PROPERTIES OF SODIUM SOAP DERIVED FROM PALM-BASED DIHYDROXYSTEARIC ACID

Sodium soap of dihydroxystearic acid (DHSA) was prepared by reacting DHSA and sodium hydroxide (NaOH). The properties of the soap, such as foamability, detergency, biodegradability and wetting power were evaluated.
